My Story
Welcome to my Scentsy website, it's lovely to have you here :)
In 2015, I thought I had things sorted out, I had a good job, a nice car, a lovely wee home and could even save money and take my daughters on lovely holidays around New Zealand.
This all changed when I received the devastating news that I was being made redundant. My world just fell apart, and to make matters worse I couldn’t find a new job.
At the time, this was a nightmare for me, but it was a blessing in disguise as since I couldn’t find a suitable job, I decided to return to finish my Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting. Now while I am very grateful for the Student Allowance, it didn’t allow for many luxuries in life and I was accumulating a lot of debt and I was becoming unable to pay them.
It was around this time that my gorgeous friend Christine approached me about selling Scentsy.
I honestly thought, “$187, gosh that seems like a lot of money and I’ve never heard of this company. The products look amazing, even though I have never seen it in person. Well I have always loved having scent in my home. What have I got to lose?”
Well I quickly found that, it’s so darn easy to sell something you’re passionate about!
As I said above, I love having a home that smells nice and in the past have burnt fragrant candles to achieve this, but after hearing of house fires caused by candles I have stopped using candles. It is so exciting to now have the option of being able to scent my home without the worry of the side effects.
I have also realised that there was so much more to this business than selling. It’s the friendships, being part of a team, being a positive influence and helping others find solutions to problems; these are just a few of the things that I enjoy about being a Scentsy leader.
I am finally able pay off my debt and save money for my children’s future, as well as have extra available for life’s wee luxuries. We even went on a trip to Australia to visit my Dad earlier this year and came home debt free, first time ever!!
My kids are very proud of what I do - my eight-year-old daughter wants to be a Scentsy Consultant when she grows up!
The biggest bonus of all is I am now one of those Mums who gets to collect her children from school, and be there for their after-school activities.
